The ITOP technology is serious and rigorous. Many inquire as to the basis of the technology. All the methodology is published and is available in openly published documents. This page gives the best, shortest path to learning more about the base technology.

The fundamental technology was created by Lucent before they were named Lucent. They were Bell Laboratories. An fellow named Claude Shannon worked out the mathematics of communications. Shannon's work is the foundation. The original paper is available on the web. Here is the link.

Shannon Papers and Recognition

The work above was understood, massively updated and restated in business context by a team led by Mr. J Thoreson while practicing Operations Research at Texas Instruments. However, the cipher was not published until recently. The publications (three) are available form Amazon and other leading bookstores.

The approach to construct an automated system is also described. Here is a brief description of ITOP Principles (160k pdf).

To our knowledge these are the only publications that properly address the subject matter. Most importantly, these constitute the entire set that are needed.

These development team notes are the introduction to a yet unpublished paper showing the general case value quantification method. It is also known as the "Holy Grail' of Operations Research and Management Science. The intersection coincidentally defines the general case value measurement method termed "The Economics Magna Charta" by the author.
